Very fine 19th Century unusually large diameter [8-inch / 210 mm] brass cased aneroid barometer. The well-engraved silvered brass dial, signed by the makers, with exposed movement bearing curved mercury Fahrenheit thermometer, and, protected by bevelled plate glass. The case profile exaggeratedly dished. Interesting presentation inscription on verso, probably by Fylde Tennis Club.

An illustrious firm of 19th and early 20th Century instrument makers, headquartered in Deansgate, Manchester and with premises in Liverpool from around 1890.
