The beautifully proportioned mahogany case with its original shallow fretted brass pagoda top and brass finials has excellent colour and patination. The bridge top trunk door has reeded and brass capital quarter columns and fine flame veneers which are repeated in the raised base panel and shaped double plinth.
Thomas Hunter is recorded in Baillie’s "Clockmakers of the World" as working in London circa 1744-1799. This is only the second clock we have had by this maker.
