A fine 8-day marine chronometer by this well-known chronometer making firm, the early mahogany 3-tier case has brass side carrying handles and a bone roundel to the middle section numbered 223.

The substantial early 8-day movement is supported within brass gimbals and the 4 ½ inch convex silvered brass dial is signed, engraved and numbered. There are 2 subsidiary dials for up and down and subsidiary seconds.

The fusee movement exhibits all the usual refinements including spring-detent escapement and helical hairspring

Dimensions of box: 7 ¾ in. (19.5 cm) square
