Tokyo School ivory of a Shinto priest (Kannushi) feeding birds, signed with incised characters Masaaki (Shomei), late Meiji Period.
The artist Masaaki created similar works in the collection of the Shoto Museum of Art (Shibuya ward municipal museum in Tokyo), the special exhibition catalogue "History of Japanese Ivory carvings Gebori-okimono and Shibayama of the Meiji Period", p. 101 an old man with two children and p.165.
