A George III silver mounted Travelling Inkwell, circa 1760, engraved 'And. Hunter Fecit London '. The lid with a script capital 'L' below an earl's coronet.
Andrew Hunter of Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, described as a jeweller, died in 1764. Bankrupt in 1762, he is listed as a gold-worker in Kent's Directory of 1759 and had voted in the 1749 Westminster election when living in Greek Street, Soho.
Good with replacement cork stopper, some firestain on lid.
