A glove box with an unusual view made up of elements of tessellated mosaic and conventional marquetry. It seems likely that this is a very early version of the cottage and ruin, now thought to be The Windmill Tavern and the Calverley Windmill in Tunbridge Wells. The view is surrounded with an early tessellated mosaic border and is set in a background veneer, which is likely to be cherry or some other fruitwood.

For more information on the Cottage & Ruin please see the catalogue for Landmarks, which featured The King Collection of Topographical Tunbridge Ware.
