Victorian Negro meerschaum pipe stamped C Crop one side and London the other. C Crop of Hoxton London made pipes in London from 1840-1861. Meerschaum is a mineral, hydrous magnesium silicate, H 4 Mg 2 Si 3 O 1 0, occurring in white, claylike masses, it is easily used for ornamental carvings such as for pipe bowls, Box later being 1940's.
