A rare antique spoon warmer in the former of a fish on a small rocky base. Height 10 cms. Length 21 cms. Width 7 cms. Electroplated. Circa 1870. Marked underneath with silver plate stamps for James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield.
This collectible antique spoon warmer is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. It has been replated and there is no plate loss. These collectible items were originally made to assist in keeping food warm in the chilly Victorian houses. Nowadays they are popularly used as flower holders, toothbrush holders, pen pots etc.
