A fine set of Victorian gilt metal scales made by, or for, Charles Westerton Knightsbridge.
The scales sit on an oval plinth with a twisted rope decoration around it's edge.
The balance is shaped, fretted and engraved and the two 'pans' have a circular polished agate stone inset in the centre.
The top of the plinth has a storage disc onto which the six graduated weights sit, the weights ranging from 1/4oz up to 2oz.
The plinth is decorated with shaped and engraved panels inset with polished agate stones.
The scales are in very good condition and are complete. (Circa 1870)
