Attractive pair of VICTORIAN sterling silver tumbler cups of good weight.
Makers: JAMES WAKELY & FRANK CLARKE WHEELER. London 1891.

The cups are engraved on one side with two coats of arms surmounted by a Duke's Coronet.
On the opposite side there is a latin inscription for Eton Kings Scholarship 1891. Tumbler cups have been used as drinking vessels throughout the Georgian era, especially in ships and carriages in order to stop spillages they are still used to this day as prizes or as a decorative way to serve drinks.
