A spectacular show. A Victorian silver sugar basket and matching sugar sifter spoon. In the magnificent original presentation box with green velvet and satin lining. Sterling silver with part gilding and magnificent engraving of flowers, scrolls and leaves. There is a hand engraved crest to the front and monogram the other side with stylistic interleaved letters. Weight 282 grams, 9 troy ounces. Height 11.5 cms (bowl), 17.5 cms (handle). Top 15.5 x 10 cms. Basket London 1874. Spoon Sheffield 1874. Maker Martin Hall. An ideal present.
This handsome set is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Excellent crisp finish. The basket still retains the original gilding which is in good condition. The exterior shows minor traces of gilding. Both basket and spoon were made in 1874 by Martin Hall, the basket in London and the spoon in Sheffield. The box is also in very good condition.
