Of nautical interest. An attractive pair of antique sterling silver candlesticks with shaped columns standing on splayed square bases with bead borders. Exceptional quality. Decorated all over with classical motifs, garlands, acanthus leaves and more. The stems of each stick have 2 engraved cartouches – one with the name of the ship “Augusta” with an entwined monogram and crest, the other with “Portsmouth” and the date 1884.
