Victorian lighters were designed with a wick that burned continuously after the meal and from which the gentlemen would light their cigars; in the case of this fire breathing beast, the wick protrudes from the mouth. One of the dragon's feet is resting on a flaming grenade, a reference to its military origin. Made by Walker and Hall in 1895.
