A very rare antique silver table lighter in the form of a dragon with antelope horn for its body and tail. This style of cigar lighter, typically made for a military mess table, was almost always made in silver-plate and it is incredibly rare to find a sterling silver example.

Victorian lighters were designed with a wick that burned continuously after the meal and from which the gentlemen would light their cigars; in the case of this fire breathing beast, the wick protrudes from the mouth. One of the dragon's feet is resting on a flaming grenade, a reference to its military origin. Made by Walker and Hall in 1895.
