A Victorian Sterling Silver vesta case, or match safe, made in Birmingham 1884 by S. Blanckensee&Son. The C&M on the side stands for Cashmore&Mole who patented the design, which represents the leg of a footballer cut off at the knee, with a pad attached to the shin and a ball at the toe.5.25cm high;17.4gm.
