A VIEW NEAR LUDLOW

Barber is listed as a 19th/20th Century British artist specializing in English landscapes scenes.
These were gentle countryside views with swaying trees, rambling footpaths, meandering rivers and cattle grazing.
Barber was fond of North Wales and painted the mountainous landscape and waterfalls he saw on his travels there, these included, Landscape near Dolgelly, The Mellincourt Falls and the River Conway. Barber also painted views in Surrey.
He used oils and always signed his work either using a monogram or T.S. Barber. He also inscribed verso the location and title of the work.
Barber also painted in pairs.
It is recorded that he lived at 36 Riverdale Road, Highbury, London and exhibited in 1891.
One painting was exhibited at Manchester City Art Gallery.
