Leopold Haeck was born on 4 March 1868/9 in Antwerp.
He became a painter of landscapes, portraits, genre scenes and religious subjects; and also an engraver and etcher.
He was a pupil of Ch.Verlat at the Academy of Antwerpen and at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts.
He debuted at the Antwerp Salon in 1888; working mainly in the Campine he often painted snow scenes.
Haeck was a member of the group, ‘Als Ik Kan’.
In 1910 he won a medal at the Brussels World Fair.
Leopold was Knight of the Order of Leopold.
