The high profile mount displays a fourteen claw set 19.48 ct round mixed cut natural amethyst held in relief.
The amethyst is encircled by fourteen green paste* beads set above a scalloped edged, textured petal design border.
The 14 ct yellow gold shank has a multi-strand arrangement which flares and divides at the shoulders.
The main strands of the shoulders integrate into the impressive setting.
Due to the style of the ring, there is a high probability of German origin.
*Paste 'gemstones' were a part of evening jewellery sets. Such crystals, which were made of high-lead-content glass and had a permanent foil backing, were used to give the illusion of almost any gemstone, such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts.
