The pin brooch represents the cap badge of the Staffordshire Yeomanry*.
The three-loop 'Stafford Knot' to the centre is embellished with fifteen, eight-cut diamonds and encircled by the blue enamel Garter which displays the motto: 'Honi soit qui mal y pense'- (shame on him who thinks evil of it).
The Garter sits upon a blue enamel scroll which displays the additional motto: 'Pro aris et focis' - (for God and country).
The Garter is surmounted with the King's Crown, embellished with translucent red enamel.
NOTE *The Staffordshire Yeomanry (Queen's Own Royal Regiment) was a unit of the British Army 1801-2006, actively serving in both WWI and WWII.
