The surface of the mug is plain and unembellished.
This silver pint mug is fitted with a fine and impressive narwhal tusk* handle with shaped sterling silver sockets.
* A narwhal is a medium sized toothed Arctic whale, the male of the species being characterised by its single 2-3 metre long tusk. The tusk is actually an incisor tooth which projects in a left-handed helix from the narwhal's upper jaw.

There is some crazing to the tusk handle as to be expected, in keeping with age; this does not affect the integrity of the piece.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mug are all very clear.
