The surface of both the cup and saucer is embellished with fine and impressive cloisonné stemmed foliate and floral designs using various tones of blue and green accented with paralleling bands of white enamel circular motifs.
The enamel segments are encompassed with delicate applied silver gilt paralleling rope twist ornamentation.
The cup is fitted with an impressive narrow loop style handle accented with circular blue enamel motifs to the anterior of the handpice.
The hallmarks to the underside of this piece include:
Maker's Mark: ЛЮБ
Soviet silver mark: Hammer and sickle star emblem
Assay mark: Л (Leningrad*)
Silver quality/purity mark: 916 (916/1000)
* The modern day city name of Lenigrad is St. Petersburg.
