The Wreck of the Edgar.
A brass mounted walking stick, inscribed 'From the Wreck of the Edgar Exploded & Sunk 1711' and 'Recovered under the Superintendence of Lt. H. Barlow R.E. with A. Siebe's Improved Diving Apparatus 1844.'
This wreck clearance at Spithead, reported in detail in contemporary newspapers, followed on from the clearance of the Royal George - both clearances under the command of General Charles Pasley.
The stick is 64.8cm long and the diameter of the end is 3cm.
Some dents to brass, wear to wooden part of stick
