Probably from a Foot Guard regiment, the officer is wearing black stock, gold epaulettes and the black facings of his uniform, open at the top to display a white frill. He is sporting a hair style that became popular following the introduction of the powder tax in 1795 when men stopped wearing wigs.Signed to the border with the monogram GP and the date 1807. Concave moulded frame.
