FAIRY GONDOLA
The largest of the Lily trays, is decorated inside with one of the most extravagant of the fairy river landscape designs. In the centre of the blue river glides an ornate gondola in red; on the further bank rise minarets, temples, follies, beswagged and garlanded pillars crowned with flower baskets, all in yellow, red, brown or green, and what may perhaps be described as a topiary Tower Bridge in black. From the grassy foreground grow brown tree-trunks with strange vegetation: yellow clusters on red, white on coppery-orange, red on black or bluish-green; one tree bears orange fruit and black leaves.
Sundry figures are dotted around, some of them recognisable from other designs, such as the Fairy with Large Hat still punting away!
