A fine shellwork picture "O Salutaris Hostia". West Indian, made for the French maritime market during the mid 19th century. Within a French silver leaf frame of the period. Circa 1850.
"O Saving Host", is a section of one of the Eucharistic hymns written by St Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi and is used for the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
