William de Morgan Arts & Crafts red/ruby lustre charger decorated with over with carnation flower heads. Early Chelsea period when De Morgan was decorating on blanks supplied by J H Davis of Hanley c 1880. The reverse body impressed DAVIS with the border decorated with flower heads and stylised leaves.

Example of William de Morgan with J H Davis marks in the collections of the V & A and British Museum.


Perfect. Some minor surface rubbing consistent with age.
