A portrait miniature of a fair haired child wearing a white smock dress. Watercolour in an oval gilt frame with beaded edge. The revese is signed and dated: Painted by Wm Egley/40 London Street/Fitzroy Square/March24.1843.

Additional Information: William Egley exhibited at the Royal Academy 1824-1869. He suceeded in acquiring an aristocratic clientele. Five miniatures were loaned by him to the Exhibition at the South Kensington Museum in 1865, they included portraits of Lady Burleigh and Lord Churchill.
