Item Description / Dealer Expertise

A wonderful Swedish naive folk art painting on an impressive scale, depicting a linear sequence of charming musicians and dancers framed within stylised spiral columns. Painted predominantly in warm red, soft grey-blue and buff, on handwoven hemp and linen backing. The theme of the painting is drawn from Psalm 112, verse 3, "Wealth and riches shall be in my father's house".

This is a superb example of Swedish naive painting, and would have graced family celebrations on the walls of a room set aside for this purpose. The painting has been conserved and has been mounted onto natural linen and set within a contemporary shallow oak box frame.
