A fine, luxuriant Worcester porcelain teapot, c. 1775. Hand painted in Sevres style, with the Earl Dalhousie pattern, with rural river landscapes in circular panels. The rest of the body painted with insects, and a continuous festoon of fruit, suspended from gilt scrolls, over a gilded cobalt blue border.Having a gilt decorated, moulded scroll spout, and double strap handle.
The cover similarly decorated with insects and fruit, within a gilded, cobalt blue border. Surmounted by a flower bud finial.
Minute chip to gilt on spout. Typical, minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
