A rare Worcester transfer printed bell shaped mug,c. 1758. Printed chinoiserie scenes in black with 'La Terre' of a lady and a man beside potted plants. The reverse with 'Le Feu' with an archer seated at a tea stall. Applied with a grooved loop handle.
Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
La Terre is emblamtic of Earth. Le Feu symbolises Fire from a set of the Elements painted by Boucher, and engraved by Pierre Aveline.
