Yongzheng lobed teapot originally chinese blue and white export ware with Dutch decoration of overglaze enamels. The Dutch painting was added to make the piece look like early famille Rose ware. it was probably applied on arrival into Holland c1730. Excellent example of this type. |

Emperor Yongzheng was the 3rd of the Qing Emperors and followed on from the Great Qing Emperor, kangxi. Under his patronage the Imperial kilns of Jingdezhen were able to develop new techneques and designs. Porcelain manufacture was taken to a high level of refinement producing some of the finest polychrome ware and blue and white porcelain.
