The Mustard Pot has a plain drum form and a very unusual wide gadrooned band on the rim and at the base. The hinged cover is decorated with reeding and the scroll handle is decorated with stylised leaf capping and is attached to the cover with a triple acanthus leaf thumb piece. The Mustard Pot has a clear glass liner, is fully marked on the side of the main body and with the sterling mark and duty mark on the cover. Mustard Pots from York are extremely rare and this design certainly has a Provincial feel to it. This example is in excellent condition.
