Alfred Barye (1839 - 1882) was the son and pupil of Antoine Louis Barye, he carried on his work after the latter s death. He exhibited at the Salon from 1864 onwards. 

His early bronzes consisted mainly of race horses but he also sculpted bird groups and genre figures.
