ALFRED EGERTON COOPER
Alfred Egerton Cooper was a portrait and landscape painter born in Tettenhall, Stafofordshire. He studied at Bilston School of Art and Royal Collage of Art. Served in Artists Rifles in World War I. He was elected RBA in 1914. In 1921 Cooper’s picture London from an Airship was a notable feature of the RA Summer exhibition and three years later he won an Hon. Mention at Paris Salon. Also showed Walker art Gallery in Liverpool, Goupil Gallery and Leicester Galleries. King George IV and Sir Winston Churchill were among Cooper’s portrait subjects.
