Israeli Modern Passover Lithograph Silkscreen David Sharir Holiday Art Serigraph
By David Sharir
Located in Surfside, FL
This is a mixed lithograph and serigraph silkscreen as per descriptions i read. this is not signed or numbered. it is a rare artists or printers proof print. It depicts Moses and Aaron at the top and I believe it relates to Passover and the exodus from Egypt. David Sharir was born in 1938 in Tel Aviv, Israel and currently resides there. David Sharir, the son of Russian immigrants, was born in Israel. Beginning his study of art in Tel Aviv and continuing in Florence and Rome, where he studied architecture and theater design. The brightly colored costumes and intricate stage designs he created for these productions have profoundly influenced his art. When Sharir moved to Jaffa in 1966, his hallmark style was truly developed. Studio, family, and spiritual devotion all serve as inspiration for the imagery in his work. His evolving style combines personal experience, Biblical symbolism, and fantasy. David Sharir, born 1938, Tel Aviv. Was among the first artists to settle in Old Jaffa in 1966. He depicted biblical subjects with a touch of humour and designed sets and costumes for the theatre and opera. It was from his hard working father, a man who was more comfortable with a horse drawn plow than its mechanized counterpart, that Baize gained not only a strong work ethic but an innate love for animals and the people who cared for them. Baize paints a way of life influenced by not only his own upbringing, but also by gene...

Cecil Aldin Set of Five First Edition Prints of the Fallowfield Hunt Club
By Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin, R.B.A.
Located in Colorado Springs, CO
This fantastic collection of 1901 chromolithographic prints are the work of equestrian and sporting artist Cecil Aldin (1870-1935). The prints collectively comprising an extremely attractive and desirable collage; to include, Breakfast at the Three Pigeons, Breaking Cover and the Death. The center print is called “Hunt Supper” which is one of Aldin’s more famous works. It shows a merry company of jolly hunters in the aftermath of a most pleasurable dinner. Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin was born in Slough, England in 1870 and was successful in his own time as an illustrator of books and magazines, a painter, and a writer. His sporting art featured one of his lifelong passions, hunting. He became famous for his watercolors and prints showing foxhunting scenes in the English countryside, as well as his ability to portray the dogs, horses, and animals that were the protagonists of these scenes. Aldin's art has become increasingly popular with time and he is appreciated today for his special talent in sketching and painting dogs. In a funny pose, the tilt of a head or a cocked ear, Aldin captured the individual character of the many dogs and breeds he worked with. His art shows the camaraderie he felt with his canine friends and models, though his work is never overly cute or sweet. Aldin's talents were greatly appreciated by his contemporaries. As a result, there is a wide range of collectibles available today that bear his famous dog images. Between 1934 and 1985, Royal Doulton produced the "Dogs of Character" series of fine bone china figurines...
