Charles John Robertson
Charles John Robertson entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1797 at the age of eighteen. He went on to exhibit at the Royal Academy between 1798 and 1830, working mostly in London but during 1811-12 he spent time working in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. In 1829 he was an Hon. member of a sketching society of which Alfred Edward Chalon and Henry Bone were members.
He is not to be confused with the Charles Robertson of Dublin another miniature painter.
His work is reminiscent of Andrew Robertson's work. The National Portrait Gallery in London have a very fine miniature by him depicting a young musician.
