Charlotte Nasmyth was the daughter of Alexander Nasmyth the Scottish landscape painter who had eleven children. She painted landscapes including views of the Home Counties, North Wales and Scotland.
Barbara exhibited from 1840 to 1862, mainly in London, including thirty-one works at Suffolk Street. She also exhibited her work at the Royal Academy (RA) and the British Institute (BI). The reference books have her living in both Manchester and London.
