Georges Jeanin was a famous painter of flowers and still-life works. He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1868, and continued to exhibit there regularly. He was a member of the society of the Artistes Français from 1887, where he won many medals; he later became president of the Société des Peintres de Fleurs. His work can be found in many museums and collections in France.
