John's John studied at Central St Martins School of Art 1974-77 where he gained a BA Hons in Theatre Design.
After working as Design Assistant at the Royal Court Theatre London he taught art in London from 1979-2000.
John was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and was Visiting Lecturer on Art and Design in U.S.A..
In 2000 he reduced his teaching committments in order to concentrate on his painting career.
John's work has been exhibited in London and the south east including Thompsons Gallery London, Stark Gallery London, Rowley Gallery London. Milne and Moller have shown his work at the Olympia Fine Art Design & Antiques Fair and at the 20/21 International Art Fair at the Royal College of Art.
Inspired by the St Ives School, John's abstract compositions are clearly informed by the paintings of Ben Nicholson and the sculpture of Barbara Hepworth but he adds a geometric clarity reminiscent of the hard endge painters of the 1960's.
