A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver meat skewer/letter opener made by Mary Chawner; an addition to our diverse flatware collection. This large antique Victorian sterling silver meat skewer/letter opener has a tapered form. The surface of this skewer is embellished with a contemporary engraved initial ‘R’ below the plain circular ring loop finger piece. The reverse surface is plain and unembellished apart from the featured hallmarks. This fine example of antique silversmith was crafted by the renowned London female silversmith Mary Chawner. An excellent, fine and impressive antique Georgian English sterling silver candle snuffer / pen tray; an addition to our 18th century silverware collection. This exceptional antique Georgian sterling silver candle snuffer tray has a navette shaped form. The surface of this antique silver snuffer/pen tray is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a centaur regardant holding and arrow on a bended bow, above the bright cut engraved initials 'WIL'. The outer circumference of the surface is encompassed with an undulating wriggle work decorated border. The raised rounded sides of the tray are embellished with pierced decorated urn designs conjoined by suspended bright cut engraved festoon ornamentation further accented with undulating pin struck decoration. The tray is further embellished with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. Either end of the tray incorporates an impressive pierced and applied scrolling leaf decorated handle accented with a pendant drop design to the inner surface. This exceptional tray was crafted by the London silversmith William Plummer who is known for his work with pierced decoration. The centaur in this stance is also a depiction of Sagittarius (otherwise known as Arcitenens), one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac. Condition This antique silver candle snuffer...

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver straight King's pattern flatware service for 12 persons made by Mary Chawner; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional, antique Victorian straight, sterling silver canteen of cutlery for 12 persons have been crafted in King's pattern. The reverse of each spoon and fork features a union shell and diamond heel in addition to convex shell ornamentation to the terminal. The anterior surface of each piece bears the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'GM' below a coronet. This Kings pattern canteen of cutlery consists of 62 pieces: Basic service: 12 table forks 12 table spoons 12 dessert forks 12 dessert spoons 12 teaspoons Additional pieces: Pair of sauce ladles The components of this antique Victorian service have been crafted by the renowned London female silversmith Mary Chawner in 1837. This flatware service can be purchased with King's pattern knives if so desired.
