Maurice Ambroise Ehlinger
Maurice Ehlinger was born in the Alsace region of France in 1896. He studied at the Academie des Beaux Arts in Paris. During his artistic career he regularly exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris, and gained renown as a portrait painter and also for his sensitive but powerful rendering of the female form.
A permanent collection of his paintings can be found at the Museum of Fine Arts at St Die in the Vosges region of France, and centenary exhibitions were held in 1996 both in Paris and St Die.
Maurice Ehlinger died in 1981.
