Son of Augustine Courtauld, born 10 September 1720, baptised 13 September, Leicester Fields Church. Apprenticed to his father 12 November 1734. Free, 3 February 1747. First mark entered as largeworker, 6 October 1746. Address: 'Shandois' Street, November 1751. Married 31 August 1749, Louisa Perina Ogier at St. Luke's, Old Street. Their son Samuel was born 20 October 1752, followed by four daughters and two other sons. livery, June 1763. Died February 1765 and buried 24 February at Chelsea. He left all his property to his wife. Samuel's work does not appear to have survived in any great quantity. It is characterised by a mild rococo taste, attractively executed.
