Sidney Meteyard is known as a painter in oil, watercolour and tempera and also as a designer of stained glass. He studied at Birmingham School of Art under Edward R. Taylor and later became an Associate of RBSA in 1902 and a full member in 1908. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Birmingham, Liverpool and the Paris Salon. All his work shows a strong influence of Burne-Jones, examples can be seen in Birmingham Art Gallery.
