Thomas Kefford was born in Royston, Hertfordshire, the son of Thomas & Mary Kefford. He worked 'at the Dial in Fore Street from about 1710 until 1770 and was succeeded by Samual Coxall, one of his apprentices.He died in 1774. He produced both 30 hour and 8 day longcase clocks, tavern clocks, and a miniature alarm timepiece is also recorded. See Loomes, Clockmakers of Britain 1286-1700 (2014), p.303.
