Thomas Thornycroft (1815-1885) Born into a family of artists, a pupil of the eminent sculptor John Francis (whose daughter he married). A member of the Royal Academy (exhibiting 42 times) and the British Institution (5 exhibits). Conceived the large bronze group of Boadicea and her daughters now situated on the Victoria Embankment at Westminster Bridge.
