Timo Sarpaneva was a Finnish designer and professor who is best known for his constructivist glass design. Although he preferred to work with glass and metal, he also designed works in porcelain, wood and textiles. In 1950, Sarpaneva started designing glassware for Iittala, the Finnish design store, where, in 1956, he designed the company's famous i-logo.
