William Henry Fisk was born in Homerton, Middlesex, where he was a pupil of his father before he entered the Royal Academy School. Fisk was a painter of landscapes and historical subjects. He became a teacher of drawing and painting at University College of London, gave lectures on painting at various locations throughout London, and was appointed anatomical draughtsman to the Royal College of Surgeons. Fisk exhibited at the Royal Academy regularly between 1850 and 1873. He lived in London, where he died at Hampstead in 1884.
