John Howard

John and Linda Howard started their business in 1976 in the seaside town of Aberystwyth, which is situated, on the West Coast of Wales. John had been a collector of English pottery from leaving school at fifteen and remembers spending his entire first week's wages on an early but damaged Welsh pottery jug. Not surprisingly the specialisation with English and Welsh pottery developed strongly and was further strengthened by exhibiting at major antique Fairs such as Olympia, NEC, BADA where an international customer base was formed both with the trade and collectors.

In the past 12 years they have exhibited at the New York Ceramics Fair and in Palm Beach which has forged a strong relationship with a loyal collectors in the USA. 10 years ago the Howard's moved from their Welsh base to Woodstock near Oxford just one hour from London.

John commented "The Internet revolutionised communication. Digital images can be sent with such ease with Email, my stock can be viewed all around the world and I have a web site which has the same profile as IBM, that is the beauty of the Internet."

The Howard's are members of the British Antique Dealers Association, which have a code of practice requiring a high quality of stock, and a depth of knowledge and integrity from member dealers and they are proud of the fact that they have a very high portion of repeat business from collectors some they have know for many years.
