Junior Perl Developer-Head Office, Bedford, Bedfordshire

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a middleweight web designer to join an established new-media company to work full time in our offices in the Bedford I-Lab. This opportunity has arisen due to the continued success and growth of the company.
We work in the art & antiques business, creating and running websites for dealerships all around the world. You will be involved specifically with the development of further features to our systems and the building of client websites using our portal system and in tracking down and fixing bugs.

To be considered for this position you will ideally have the following required skills:

Perl (2 years preferred, 1 year accepted)
mod_Perl (1 year experience)
OO Perl (1 year experience)
Template Toolkit
mysql (minimum knowledge accepted)
HTML/CSS
JS including the use of frames such as jQuery & Dojo
Linux/Unix command line

Bonus skills:

Experience with large traffic throughput
Experience with portal systems
Metadot experience
SEO experience

Salary is dependent upon experience.

We work in the art & antiques business, creating and running websites for dealerships all around the world and this role will require you to design websites for both the company and its clients. You will be involved in all aspects of the design/client consultation process.

To be considered for this position you will ideally have the following required skills:

Ability to use Photoshop
Web design experience (2 years minimum)
Able to work to deadlines
Able to communicate with clients to discuss website requirements
Understanding of modern interactive web technologies (AJAX, JSON, Flash etc).
Understanding of web standards.
